STA Respite offers a valuable service, providing temporary accommodation, short-term care, and support for a duration of up to six weeks. This service is specifically designed to offer children and their families a well-deserved break, especially in situations where a child is unwell. For many children with long-term complex conditions, respite allows them to stay at home while receiving the necessary care for a period of up to six weeks. Additionally, respite serves as a crucial resource for children with complex chronic conditions (CCCs), offering them extra support during challenging times or transitions, such as a relocation or change of schools.
The STA Respite Program is designed to give children and their families more choice in the place of respite care. ADAC want to provide more choice of where your child will be in respite care, and more choices about which services are offered.
